The Word
of Our Testimonies

Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say: 'Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Messiah.  For the accuser of our brothers and sister, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down. They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.'

- Revelation 12:10-11

A testimony is a personal or public declaration of what God has done in your life: a witness to His truth, faithfulness, and saving power. It isn't just storytelling, its the "who, what, when, where, why, and how" of your journey with Jesus. How did you meet Him? Who were you before you met Him? When did you come to that decision in your life? Why Jesus? It bears witness to the reality of God's character and work in your life.

It is also a tool for strengthening faith, both our own and others'.  Its evidence of God's power made personal. It’s how God turns individual redemption into collective encouragement and proof that His grace is still active and very real.

When someone shares what God has done for them, they aren’t just recounting events; they’re giving evidence that the same God who parted seas, healed the sick, and raised the dead is still active today. It's the invisible made visible through a transformed life and living proof of His faithfulness.

When you speak of God’s goodness, you remind your own heart that He came through, that He was faithful before, and will be again. Psalm 77:11–12 captures this well: “I will remember the deeds of the LORD; yes, I will remember our miracles of long ago. I will consider all your works and meditate on all your mighty deeds.”  Testimony is remembrance in action.

For others, hearing testimony stirs faith and hope. Someone else’s story becomes a lifeline: proof that grace is real, that God rescues, that restoration isn’t out of reach. As Romans 10:17 says, “Faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.” Testimony helps give people something to hear about Christ that builds belief.

"Come and hear, all you who fear God; let me tell you what He has done for me." - Psalm 66:16
